Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Territory Manager, Specialty Care Business Development to market, manage and underwrite commercial business through select agencies or brokers. You will drive profit and growth by crafting and executing business plans, while leading agency relationships and sales processes to win and retain accounts.

The role requires 7+ years in underwriting and sales for commercial lines, with strong knowledge of Human Services and Nonprofit sectors, and experience in casualty lines.

Qualifications

• Seven years of progressively more responsible underwriting and sales experience in commercial business.
• Knowledge of commercial underwriting, pricing and coverage for middle market business.
• Experience with Human Services and Nonprofit accounts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Market, manage and underwrite commercial business with select agencies or brokers.
• Drive profit and premium to meet financial goals and objectives through developing, negotiating and implementing business plans.
• Lead and influence agencies by creating sales strategies and implementing sales processes that drive new sales and retention.
• Research risks, environments and factors to win the account and analyze underwriting performance.
• Quotes, prices and underwrites new and renewal policies for complex or service sensitive accounts.
• Monitor pricing decisions and ensure file handling quality and workflow efficiency.
• Develop and implement robust agency business plans with clear performance checkpoints.
