Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Construction Services Territory Manager, Commercial Lines, to market, manage and underwrite mid-market construction accounts from a remote location. The role emphasizes building agency partnerships, driving profitable production and developing business plans within a defined territory.

You will analyze risk, quote and bind policies, collaborate with sales and underwriting partners, and travel as needed to key agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Seven years of progressively more responsible underwriting and sales experience in commercial lines preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of commercial underwriting, pricing and coverage for middle-market business.
• Strong knowledge of commercial underwriting, pricing and coverage for middle market business.
• Excellent interpersonal and sales skills.
• Existing relationships with agency partners is highly desirable.
• Construction-specific insurance industry experience is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Market, manage and underwrite commercial line business through direct contact with select agencies or brokers.
• Drive profit and premium to meet financial goals and objectives through developing, negotiating and executing business plans.
• Collaborate with internal partners to support and increase Nationwide presence.
• Lead delivery of agency visits to develop new accounts and review agency performance.
• Manage workflow and underwriting authority within company guidelines and standards.
