Job summary

Tantalus Systems is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join the Customer Operations team. The role focuses on deploying, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting for Tantalus customers, serving as the primary technical interface between Field Operations and Product Development.

The position is remote within the United States, ideally in Central or Eastern states, with opportunities to travel to customer sites and participate in after-hours support.

Qualifications

Diploma in information technology or higher.
2+ years of experience in a customer service or technical support role.
Comfortable in a Linux environment and with Unix/Linux command line and Bash.
Working knowledge of IP networking (TCP/IP, FTP, SSH, firewall).
Experience with virtual machine environments (VMware ESXi, HyperV).
Familiarity with Oracle SQL or similar RDBMS; tooling automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot across the TUNet technology stack including embedded hardware, software, RF/IP networks, and Linux back-end.
Upgrade and patch TUNet software on customer systems.
Configure and maintain billing exports.
Support new product deployments in the field.
Travel to customer sites as needed for support and training.
