Job summary

Leidos Engineering seeks a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector to lead design reviews and deliver substation projects and foundations. The role involves hands-on design, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with clients for bid/construction packages.

You'll work with steel, concrete, geotechnical components and seismic design, with site visits and occasional travel. Preferred location is Portland, OR; remote options are limited.

Qualifications

BS or MS in civil-structural engineering with 5+ years’ experience; MS with 3+ years acceptable.
PE license preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain within 3–12 months.
SE licensure preferred.
Proficient with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint and MATHCAD; experience with structural analysis software.

Responsibilities

Lead design reviews and provide senior guidance on substation structures.
Develop design packages for bids/construction of substation projects.
Mentor junior staff and oversee technical work quality.
Interface with clients and staff, and support site visits and travel.
