Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector to lead design reviews and projects for substation facilities. You will supervise staff, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with project scope and schedules.

Preferred location is Portland, OR, with possible travel to client sites. Strong background in steel/concrete design and seismic loading is required for this senior role.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years of relevant experience
• PE license preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain within 3–12 months
• SE licensure preferred; experience reviewing substation structure design and foundations
• Experience with design reviews for structures and foundations to industry codes under seismic loading

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects
• Function as senior engineer leading projects and developing junior staff
• Perform site visits and travel to client meetings as needed
