Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Designer – Protection & Controls to join our Power Delivery team in multiple locations, including Tampa, FL.

You will draft and design protection drawings for substations, working with engineers to ensure safe, reliable grid operations. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in substation design focused on protection and control, familiarity with relay protection schemes, and experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Microsoft

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Substation designing with focus on protection and control.
• Familiarity with relay protection schemes.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Willingness to enter energized substations with proper training and PPE.
• Must be self-driven in time management and able to communicate with stakeholders.
• Proficient with Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel for client site visits and project meetings.

Responsibilities

• Substation Design & Drafting: create drawings including schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and building layouts.
• Engineering Analysis: perform design calculations such as voltage drop and conduit fill.
• Collaboration & QA: ensure design meets standards and client requirements.
• Field Support: provide on-site technical support during construction and commissioning.
