Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Designer – Protection & Controls to join our Power Delivery team.

You’ll draft substation protection drawings, schematics, and control layouts, working with engineers to ensure safe, reliable energy delivery. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of substation design experience, familiarity with relay protection schemes, MicroStation and AutoCAD, and a willingness to travel or work remotely in the U.S.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Substation designing, with a primary focus on executing protection and control projects.
• Familiarity with relay protection schemes.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Willingness to enter energized electric substations with proper training and PPE.
• Must be self-driven in time management to meet deadlines and provide accurate deliverables, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Must be proficient with typical office software including Microsoft Windows and Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel for client site visits and project meetings.

Responsibilities

• Substation Design & Drafting: Develop electric substation drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and control building layouts.
• Engineering Analysis & Calculations: Perform substation design calculations and analysis such as voltage drop and conduit fill.
• Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Work closely with peers to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of electrical design that meets client and industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practices
• Field Support: Providing on-site technical support for select ENERCON clients during construction and commissioning as required
