Job summary

You’ll draft single-line diagrams, perform protection calculations, and collaborate with multi-discipline teams to ensure safe, reliable grid operation. The role requires a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, 6+ years in substation projects, and proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 6+ years of experience in Substation engineering with a primary focus on protection and control projects.
• Familiarity with relay protection schemes and relay logic.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD; strong familiarity with relevant codes (NESC, IEEE).

Responsibilities

• Substation Design & Drafting: create electrical substation drawings including single line diagrams and control layouts.
• Engineering Analysis & Calculations: perform substation design calculations (ground grid, lightning protection, voltage drop).
• Protection & Control: develop relay settings for protective features with other teams and vendors.
• Technical Documentation & Specifications: prepare equipment specs and work scopes.
• Collaboration & Quality Assurance: ensure designs meet standards and deliverables on time.
• Field Support: provide on-site technical support during construction and commissioning.
