Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 6 years in Substation engineering with a focus on protection and control.
• Familiar with relay protection schemes and relay logic.
• Basic understanding of SCADA design.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, and applicable codes.
• Willingness to enter energized substations with PPE.
• Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Willingness to travel for client site visits and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Substation design & drafting including single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and control building layouts.
• Perform substation design calculations and analysis such as ground grid analysis, lightning protection, voltage drop, conduit fill, and protective relay settings calculations.
• Develop relay settings for protective features with other departments and external vendor engineers.
• Develop technical equipment and construction specifications and work scopes.
• Collaborate with peers to ensure accurate, on-time electrical designs meeting standards and client requirements.
• Provide on-site field support during construction and commissioning as required.
