Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. invites a Substation Engineer - Protection and Controls to join our Power Delivery group across multiple U.S. offices (Dallas/Houston TX; Orlando/Tampa/ Palm Beach Gardens FL; Overland Park KS).

You’ll lead substation design, protection settings, and field support to deliver safe, reliable grids for evolving energy systems. Ideal candidates hold a ABET-accredited Electrical Eng degree with 6+ years in protection and control, familiarity with relay logic, SCADA, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) required.
Minimum of 6 years in Substation engineering with focus on protection & control.
Familiarity with relay protection schemes and relay logic.
Basic understanding of SCADA design.
Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
Strong familiarity with NESC, IEEE, and other codes and standards.
Willingness to enter energized substations with training and PPE.
Proficient with MS Office applications.
Willingness to travel for client site visits and meetings.

Responsibilities

Substation design and drafting: create single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, control layouts, and building layouts.
Perform substation design calculations and analyses: ground grid, lightning protection, voltage drop, conduit fill.
Develop relay settings for protection features with other teams and vendors.
Create technical equipment and construction specifications and work scopes.
Collaborate to ensure on-time, accurate electrical design meeting standards.
Provide field support for ENERCON clients during construction and commissioning.
