Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineer – Protection and Controls to design substations, set relay protections, and support field commissioning across multiple U.S. offices.

The role requires a bachelor’s in EE and at least 6 years of substation experience, with familiarity in relay protection schemes and SCADA design. Proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD is expected, along with willingness to travel and a PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited university required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Substation engineering with focus on protection and control.
• Familiarity with relay protection schemes and relay logic.
• Basic understanding of SCADA design.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Substation Design & Drafting: develop drawings including single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control building layouts.
• Engineering Analysis & Calculations: perform ground grid analysis, lightning protection, voltage drop, and conduit fill; relay settings analysis and CT/PT sizing.
• Protection & Control: develop relay settings for protective features with other departments and vendors.
• Technical Documentation & Specifications: develop equipment specs and scopes of work.
• Collaboration & QA: ensure on-time delivery meeting standards and client requirements.
• Field Support: provide on-site technical support during construction and commissioning as required.
