Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Designer – Protection & Controls to support multiple U.S. offices, including Dallas and Houston, with remote options. You will draft protection drawings, perform design calculations, and assist in field deployment to help keep the grid safe and reliable.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in substation design, familiarity with relay protection schemes, and proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD, plus willingness to travel for client visits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in substation design with a focus on protection and control.
• Familiarity with relay protection schemes.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Willingness to enter energized substations with proper training and PPE.
• Self-driven, able to meet deadlines and communicate with stakeholders.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office suite; willing to travel for client visits.

Responsibilities

• Substation Design & Drafting: Develop electric substation drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and control building layouts.
• Engineering Analysis & Calculations: Perform substation design calculations and analysis such as voltage drop and conduit fill.
• Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Ensure accurate on-time delivery of electrical design per standards and good engineering practices.
• Field Support: Provide on-site technical support for ENERCON clients during construction and commissioning as required.
