Job summary

GFT is seeking experienced Substation Engineers to join our Power Group in a remote-friendly role. The position supports projects from 34.5kV up to 500kV, with opportunities to collaborate on regional and national substation initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, a PE license or path toward licensure, and 4+ years in power design and project management. Preference for experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation or Inventor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer license or path toward licensure.
• 4+ years progressive design, engineering and PM experience in power/utility.
• Experience with project management software for scope, schedule, budget.
• High voltage substation and distribution design experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop substation layouts, plan/elevations, grounding, raceways, cable lists, and equipment lists.
• Create one- and three-line diagrams, SCADA, DC power systems, and relay panel layouts.
• Prepare calculations and client reports.
• Prepare equipment specifications for substation equipment and construction.
• Collaborate to pursue regional and national substation projects and grow Gannett Fleming's presence.
• Develop client relationships across disciplines and assist in proposals and bids.
