Zusammenfassung

GFT is seeking a Principal Substation Engineer to lead or support utility and power substation projects with HV experience up to 500kV. Remote work is possible for the right candidate, with hybrid options in several locations.

The role requires a PE license, a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, and 15+ years in design, engineering, and project management within power/utility. MS Project and AutoCAD/MicroStation proficiency are preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer License required.
• 15+ years progressive experience in design, engineering and PM in power/utility.
• Experience with high voltage substation design and project delivery.
• Experience with project management software (MS Projects or similar).

Aufgaben

• Develop substation layout drawings (plan/elevations, yard, grounding, raceways).
• Create substation one-line and three-line diagrams and related systems.
• Prepare calculations and client-facing reports.
• Prepare equipment specifications for substation equipment and construction.
• Manage technical, financial, and scheduling aspects of projects.
• May act as project manager, client manager, or capture/proposal manager.
• Build and maintain skills/resources to deliver strategic services.
• Collaborate to pursue regional and national substation projects.
• Provide QA/QC reviews and mentor engineers.
