SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Substation to own the preliminary substation design lifecycle for solar, BESS, and interconnection projects. You will coordinate inputs from engineering teams and outside consultants through 10% design deliverables and BD handoff.

This role emphasizes technical ownership, client engagement, and cross-functional collaboration across estimating, scheduling, and procurement while supporting LNTP readiness and handoff to Preconstruction Engineering.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electrical substation engineering.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD, ETAP).
• Strong understanding of substation design principles, protection schemes, and standards (IEEE, NEC, NESC).
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsabilidades

• Own the first-pass preliminary substation design for assigned pursuits and projects, defining design basis and open items.
• Review client documents, PPAs, interconnection agreements, and owner standards to identify requirements, risks, and scope outside SOLV standards.
• Serve as primary substation design SME coordinating inputs from engineering, procurement, estimating, scheduling, and other specialists.
• Lead development of the 10% substation design including single-line diagrams and general arrangement drawings.
• Coordinate with estimating and scheduling to align design, quantities, scope narrative, and schedule.
