SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer II, Substation to own the preliminary substation design for solar, BESS, and interconnection projects. This role acts as the technical owner from kickoff to Design-to-Preconstruction handoff, aligning design, scope, schedule, and risks before execution.

The position is fully remote with location details discussed in interview. Responsibilities include leading 10% design, interfacing with clients and internal teams, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electrical substation engineering.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD or ETAP.

Responsabilidades

• Own the first-pass preliminary substation design and define design basis, assumptions, equipment, layouts, and quantities for 10% design.
• Review client documents, PPAs, interconnection agreements, and standards to identify requirements and scope.
• Serve as the primary substation design SME coordinating inputs from engineering, procurement, estimating, and scheduling teams.
• Lead development of the 10% substation design including single-line diagrams and general arrangement drawings.
• Coordinate with estimating and scheduling to align design, quantities, scope narrative, and schedule.
