Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer II, Substation for the U.S. market. The role owns the preliminary substation design through the 10% design stage, coordinating with engineering, procurement, estimating, and client teams.

The position is fully remote and location details will be discussed in the interview process. You will develop single-line diagrams, general arrangement drawings, and equipment sizing, ensuring compliance with IEEE/NEC/NESC and LNTP readiness, while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is a nice-to-have, not required.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electrical substation engineering.
• Proficient in electrical design software (AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of IEEE, NEC, and NESC standards.
• Travel up to 10% is required.

Responsibilities

• Own the preliminary substation design approach for pursuits and projects.
• Coordinate inputs from engineering consultants, procurement, and estimating.
• Review client documents and interconnection agreements to identify requirements.
• Lead 10% design development including single-line diagrams and general arrangement drawings.
• Support handoffs to Preconstruction Engineering and BD teams.
