SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Substation for fully remote work in the United States.

You will own the preliminary substation design and technical ownership from kickoff through handoff, coordinating inputs from engineering, procurement, estimating, and scheduling. You will lead 10% design development, review client exhibits, and ensure alignment with project requirements, standards, and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electrical substation engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar.
• Strong understanding of substation design principles and industry standards (IEEE, NEC, NESC, etc).
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsabilités

• Own the first-pass preliminary substation design approach for assigned pursuits and projects by reviewing inputs to define the design basis, assumptions, equipment needs, layouts and risks.
• Review client documents, PPAs, interconnection agreements, and related information to identify requirements, risks and scope.
• Serve as the primary substation design SME and coordinate inputs from engineering consultants, procurement, estimating, scheduling, and other disciplines.
• Lead development of the 10% substation design, including single-line diagrams and general arrangement drawings to support estimating and pricing.
• Coordinate with estimating and scheduling to ensure design, quantities, scope narrative, schedule and commercial assumptions are aligned.
• Review estimates for technical completeness and identify gaps, exclusions, and open items for clarification.
• Deliver the owner-reviewed preliminary substation design to estimating and BD per the project stage-gate schedule.
• Review and approve preliminary deliverables for compliance with standards and customer requirements.
• Mentor junior team members and identify training needs in substation design and related domains.
