Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Substation Physical Designer for a REMOTE WORK role. You will develop substation design packages for clients across the US, producing physical design drawings and supporting bid proposals.

The role requires collaboration with engineers and drafters, mentoring junior designers, and ensuring high-quality deliverables. Responsibilities include applying industry standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, ANSI, IEEE), supporting clients, and preparing drawings with attention

Qualifications

• Proficiency with drafting standards, techniques and procedures.
• Ability to collaborate in cross-functional work teams.
• Experience creating and reviewing substation design drawings.
• Familiar with NEC, NESC, NEMA, ANSI, IEEE and related standards.
• Ability to modify drawings from markups with high accuracy.

Responsabilités

• Utilize NEC/NESC/NEMA/IEEE standards to complete engineering designs.
• Provide technical support for clients and assist business development as a technical resource.
• Work in a project team with engineers, designers, and drafters on utility substation projects.
• Mentor and support designers and drafters on project success.
• Prepare new drawing packages or modify existing ones; review substation drawings for quality.
