Job summary

Orbital is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer to provide technical leadership for our Substation Design Team in a remote role based in the United States. The ideal candidate will oversee physical design, equipment layouts, grounding, protection and control aspects for projects up to 500 kV, and guide less senior staff while maintaining client relations.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, PE strongly preferred, and extensive knowledge of NEC/IEEE/NESC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• PE registration strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with NEC, NESC, NEMA, ANSI, IEEE and related codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineers and designers on substation projects.
• Provide technical leadership and oversee design deliverables for US clients.
• Develop engineering deliverables including physical design, grounding, and protection studies.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and manage scope and timelines.
• Support business development and client relations as a technical resource.
