Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Presales Manager to lead a storage presales team across commercial, public sector and channel segments in the Northeast. This remote role combines people leadership with hands-on technical credibility to drive storage pipeline and customer success.

You will coach engineers, align coverage to accounts, partner with sales leaders, design solutions, and engage in strategic opportunities. Travel ~40–50% in the Northeast region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of technical presales experience in storage, including 3+ years leading presales or technical teams.
• Proven track record of building high-performing teams and growing pipeline and revenue across direct and partner sales models.
• Experience supporting multiple segments (commercial, public sector, channel).
• Strong technical background in enterprise storage and data management, including block, file, backup, ransomware protection, and hybrid cloud.
• Working knowledge of virtualization environments and major clouds (AWS, Azure, Google).
• Deep competitive knowledge of storage market and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop presales engineers and architects across segments, building a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Hire, onboard and retain top technical talent and craft clear development plans and career growth for each member.
• Set team goals aligned with storage and segment objectives and measure performance.
• Align engineer coverage to accounts, partners and territories to maximize pipeline.
• Partner with sales leaders to generate and progress storage opportunities across direct and partner motions.
• Guide solution design, proofs of concept and competitive strategy for strategic deals and engage on key opportunities.
• Build executive and technical relationships with customers and act as escalation point for technical needs.
• Drive installed-base expansion through new tech adoption and upgrades.
• Maintain current pipeline data and move opportunities toward close.
• Represent HPE storage solutions at customer/partner events and briefings.
