Job summary

Pearson Career Ready is seeking a State Adoption Advanced Specialist to own strategy and execution behind CTE state adoption bids. You will analyze state requirements, coordinate with RFP/Bid Management, and ensure districts receive tailored guidance to move adoption processes forward.

This US-based remote role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with Product, Content, and Sales to shape our portfolio for state reviews and post-adoption execution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in K-12 state adoptions, curriculum procurement, or CTE program strategy in educational technology or related field
• Experience with the Texas state adoption process is helpful given Texas's role as a critical adoption state
• Demonstrated expertise navigating the complexities of state adoption bid processes — knowing not just how to comply, but how to position for success
• Strong cross-functional collaborator, able to work closely with a Bid Management/RFP team without duplicating their function
• Self-starter with strong research and analytical skills; comfortable building expertise independently
• Excellent communicator, able to translate complex, state-specific requirements into clear, actionable guidance for internal teams
• Detail-oriented and comfortable managing towards nuanced, high-stakes requirements
• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in the K-12 or CTE education market
• Experience serving as a customer- or district-facing point of contact during formal review, procurement, or compliance process is a plus

Responsibilities

• Serve as internal SME on CTE state adoption processes, requirements, and timelines
• Research state enrollment data and competitive landscape to inform title/product decisions
• Interpret state-specific submission requirements and translate into guidance for bid teams
• Relay what's needed in courseware to clear state review hurdles while capturing nuance
• Monitor state adoption calendars and regulatory changes affecting CTE curriculum adoption
• Provide strategic context to RFP/Bid Management team for bids
• Ensure submission strategy reflects understanding of state adoption processes
• Track and maintain state and district purchasing contracts and co-ops
• Coordinate district-level review submission processes
• Navigate district communication rules, including cone of silence requirements
