Job summary

Navitus Health Solutions is seeking a Staff Attorney to support the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel. You will draft and negotiate contracts, conduct legal research, and manage corporate records under limited supervision.

You will provide guidance on legal issues to Navitus staff and help develop processes for filing and record-keeping while supporting regulatory affairs and other departments. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Completion of law degree, from ABA accredited program is preferred
• License to practice law required
• Some experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department required
• Highly developed verbal and written communications skills to interact tactfully and effectively with others both internal and external to Navitus on sensitive and complex topics
• Ability to use a personal computer and possess advanced skills in software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
• Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives

Responsibilities

• Researches statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, contracts, and legal codes
• Drafts, reviews, and negotiates contracts on behalf of the organization
• Prepares legal documents, such as memorandums and correspondence
• Informs Navitus legal changes and provides guidance on legal issues
• Provides legal counsel to Navitus staff on implications of business objectives and policies
• Files legal documents and correspondence in filing systems
• Develops processes for indexing and filing of legal documents and managing contracts
• Supports other departments on contracts, operations, and regulatory affairs
