Job summary

Navitus Health Solutions is seeking a Staff Attorney to support the Chief Legal Officer and Associate General Counsel with drafting legal documents, performing research, and managing corporate records. The role involves preparing correspondence and providing guidance on legal issues under limited supervision.

Ideal candidates will have a law degree, bar license, and experience in a law firm or in-house setting, with strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Qualifications

• Law degree from ABA-accredited program preferred.
• License to practice law required.
• Some experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department required.
• Highly developed verbal and written communications skills to interact tactfully and effectively with others both internal and external to Navitus on sensitive and complex topics.
• Ability to use a personal computer and possess advanced skills in software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives.
• The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.

Responsibilities

• Research statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, contracts, and legal codes.
• Draft, reviews, and negotiates contracts on behalf of the organization.
• Prepares memorandums and correspondence.
• Informs the development of new Navitus legal changes and provides guidance on legal issues.
• Provides legal counsel to Navitus staff on implications of business objectives and ensures staff are informed of applicable policies and practices.
• Files legal documents and correspondence in digital and physical filing systems.
• Develops processes for indexing and filing of legal documents and managing contracts.
• Provides support to other departments as it pertains to contracts, operations and regulatory affairs issues.
