Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day and month-end accounting operations from a remote location within the United States. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with audits under the guidance of the Accounting Manager.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 1–3 years of accounting experience, with strong GAAP knowledge and Excel skills. ERP/GL experience is preferred; healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in GAAP and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables.
• Experience with an ERP or GL system; healthcare experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries including accruals, prepaid amortization, reclassifications, and recurring entries with proper documentation.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations; research variances and resolve issues timely.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing schedules and reconciliations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes according to the close calendar.
• Maintain audit-ready workpapers and reconciliation files; ensure accuracy of general ledger.
• Analyze general ledger activity, investigate posting errors, and correct as needed.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reporting schedules and variance analysis.
• Support ad hoc projects and other tasks as assigned by Accounting Manager.
