Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day and month-end accounting. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and assist with audits to ensure accurate close.

The role requires a BA/BS in accounting or finance, 1–3 years of experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and Excel proficiency. Remote work offered to multiple states with comprehensive employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of general accounting experience; month-end close and reconciliation experience preferred.
• New graduates with relevant internship experience will be considered.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookup functions.
• Experience with an ERP or GL system; multi-location or healthcare industry experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines during close.
• Effective written and verbal communication across departments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaid amortization, reclassifications, and recurring entries, ensuring proper support.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and research variances.
• Assist with audit requests by compiling schedules and reconciliations for auditors.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes per the close calendar.
• Maintain audit-ready workpapers and reconciliation files per policy.
• Analyze general ledger activity for accuracy and investigate posting errors.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reporting schedules and variance analysis.
• Support ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned.
