Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day and month-end accounting operations. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with audits to ensure accuracy of the general ledger and timely close.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance and 1–3 years of accounting experience, with strong GAAP knowledge and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of general accounting experience; month-end close and reconciliations preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups).
• Experience with an ERP or GL system; multi-location or healthcare experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to meet multiple deadlines during close.
• Effective written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across departments.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries (accruals, prepaid amortization, reclassifications, recurring/standard entries).
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
• Assist with audit requests by compiling schedules and documentation.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close calendar tasks.
• Maintain audit-ready workpapers and reconciliation files.
• Analyze general ledger activity for accuracy and correct postings.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting schedules and variance analyses.
• Suggest improvements to accounting processes with the Manager.
• Support ad hoc projects as needed.
