Job summary

RethinkFirst is a remote-first organization seeking a Staff Accountant to join the accounting and finance team. You will handle daily accounting tasks, bank reconciliations, and journal entries while supporting month-end closes and GAAP compliance.

Collaboration with leadership and auditors is expected to ensure accurate financial reporting. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and experience with Sage Intacct.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Experience with ERP systems like Sage Intacct.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organization.
• Ability to work independently and manage deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors by providing requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards
