Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. This role will support day-to-day accounting activities, month-end close, and ensure GAAP compliance in a remote-first environment.

Ideal candidates have an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, 2–3 years of accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with Sage Intacct. Remote opportunities are available across the United States, including Hawaii.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance with 2–3 years of accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Experience with ERP systems; Sage Intacct preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors with requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
