Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. This position will perform day-to-day accounting, prepare journal entries, and support month-end close and external audits.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance with 2–3 years of relevant experience, strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), and experience with Sage Intacct. We offer remote-first flexibility with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Excel proficiency with pivot tables and VLOOKUP required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors by providing requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
