Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day and month-end accounting operations. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will prepare monthly journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and assist with internal and external audit requests.

You will help maintain the general ledger, research variances, and contribute to the monthly close, while ensuring audit-ready workpapers and adherence to internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of general accounting experience; internships considered.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with formulas, pivot tables, and lookups.
• Experience with an ERP or GL system; healthcare industry a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines during close.
• Effective written and verbal communication across departments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries, including accruals and prepaids, with proper support.
• Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and research variances.
• Assist auditors with schedules, documentation, and reconciliations.
• Support close process on monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
• Maintain audit-ready workpapers and reconcile files per policy.
• Analyze general ledger activity and correct posting errors.
• Assist in financial reporting schedules and variance analysis.
• Support ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.
