Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology Group seeks a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day and month-end accounting. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will prepare monthly journal entries, perform reconciliations, and assist with audits in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, 1–3 years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and Excel proficiency. ERP/GL experience and discretion with confidential information are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of general accounting experience; month-end close and reconciliation preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups).
• Experience with an ERP or general ledger system; ability to handle confidential financial information.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries including accruals, prepaid amortization, reclassifications, and recurring/standard entries.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts (cash, accruals, prepaid, etc.).
• Assist with audit requests by compiling schedules and documentation; respond to inquiries.
• Maintain audit-ready workpapers and reconciliation files.
• Analyze general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness; investigate posting errors.
• Assist in monthly financial reporting schedules and variance analysis.
• Support ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.
