Job summary

VetsEZ seeks a SQL Development / Data Analysis Team Lead to support a large VA healthcare modernization project. This 100% remote role requires leading a cross-functional team in SQL development, data analysis, reporting, data quality monitoring, and AI-assisted tooling adoption.

You will mentor analysts and ensure data integrity across EHR modernization efforts. The ideal candidate has strong SQL Server expertise, healthcare data knowledge (HL7/FHIR/VistA), and proficiency in BI tools like

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or another technical field, or eight years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, managing large datasets and applying indexing and performance tuning.
• Experience leading technical teams and providing guidance on development standards and reviews.
• Experience analyzing healthcare or clinical datasets and familiarity with HL7, FHIR, or VistA, plus reporting tools like Power BI/Tableau/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of SQL developers and data analysts, assign tasks, set priorities, and review performance.
• Provide hands-on leadership in developing and optimizing SQL queries and transformation logic in SQL Server.
• Oversee data analysis, integration, and migration activities to support EHR modernization objectives.
• Direct data quality monitoring and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate data review sessions with VA stakeholders and communicate technical findings to leadership.
