Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a remote specialist to provide ongoing support for special loan products, including modifications, ARM contracts, and SCRA adjustments. You will audit, update, and validate loan data, assist with Home Retention/Loss Mitigation, and ensure compliance across the servicing portfolio.

Required are 1–2 years of mortgage servicing experience, familiarity with special loan products, and solid Word/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with special loan product types and documentation.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
• Intermediate industry-related experience preferred.
• Ability to understand, remember, and communicate routine, factual information.
• Ability to make decisions that have significant impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside the immediate work unit.
• Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule on short-term basis (longer than one month).
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and to record, balance, and check results for accuracy.
• Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, communicating orally with others accurately, audibly, and quickly.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• One (1) to two (2) years’ mortgage servicing experience.
• One year experience with special loan product types or mortgage documentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review service release loans to ensure proper documentation prior to release.
• Maintain ARM contracts, indexes and balloon plans when not in system.
• Audit pending payment changes for accuracy in system and notifications.
• Support Home Retention/Loss Mitigation with modification-related issues.
• Identify loans meeting SCRA protection and issue letters.
• Research SCRA protections and update servicing system.
• Populate ARM indices for correct payment calculations.
• Update assumption packages and notify improvements.
• Update data fields in servicing system for compliance.
• Process partial releases, subordinations, easements, and related docs.
• Draft recast requests and ensure signatures and wires.
• Make system changes in response to investors or others.
• Assist acquisitions team with validations for newly acquired loans.
• Review HAMP modifications for principal reduction and eligibility.
• Monitor buydown processes for CMS-acquired loans.
• Suggest policy/process improvements.
