Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a detail-oriented Loan Servicing Specialist to provide ongoing support for special loan products, including modifications, ARM contracts, and SCRA adjustments, from a remote home office. You will review loan documentation, maintain index values, and assist with Home Retention/Loss Mitigation processes while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

This role offers a competitive hourly pay range of $19–$23 and the flexibility of working from home.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with special loan product types and documentation.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
• Intermediate industry-related experience preferred.
• Ability to understand, remember, and communicate routine information.
• Ability to make decisions with significant impact on the work unit.
• Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule (short-term).
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and ensure accuracy.
• Clear spoken communication and quick, accurate oral delivery.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 1–2 years’ mortgage servicing experience.
• 1 year experience with special loan product types or mortgage documentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review service release loans for proper documentation.
• Audit ARM contracts, indexes and balloon plans.
• Audit pending payment changes for accuracy.
• Support Home Retention/Loss Mitigation with modification issues.
• Identify loans meeting SCRA protection and send letters.
• Update servicing system with compliance and data changes.
• Maintain daily index values and ARM indices for payments.
• Follow up on assumption package approvals and updates.
• Run scripts for modifications finalized by Loss Mitigation.
• Assist acquisitions with validations for newly acquired loans.
