Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a detail-oriented specialist to provide ongoing support for special loan products including modifications, ARM loans, SCRA adjustments, and assumptions. This role operates remotely with pay range $19-$23 per hour and requires 1–2 years of mortgage servicing experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with related documentation.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with special loan product types and documentation.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
• One (1) to two (2) years’ mortgage servicing experience.
• One year experience with special loan product types or mortgage documentation preferred.
• Ability to understand, remember, and communicate routine, factual information.
• Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule on short-term basis.

Responsibilities

• Review of service release loans to ensure proper documentation prior to being released.
• Review and maintain ARM contracts and indices and balloon plans.
• Audit pending payment changes to ensure accuracy of system and future notifications.
• Assist CMS departments with special loan-related inquiries.
• Audit the servicing portfolio to identify loans meeting SCRA protection and issue letters.
• Research compliance with SCRA protection benefits and update servicing system.
• Maintain daily index values and ARM indices for payment calculations.
• Follow up with mortgage lending division on assumption packages and updates.
• Run scripts for modifications finalized by Loss Mitigation and implement corrections.
• Update data fields in servicing system for compliance and changes to special loans.
• Process partial releases, subordinations, easements, and related documents with approvals.
• Draft recast requests and ensure documents are signed and wire received timely.
• Perform system changes in response to investor/customer requests.
• Assist acquisitions team with validations for newly acquired loans.
• Review HAMP modifications for principal reduction and recast eligibility.
• Monitor buydown processes for loans acquired by CMS.
• Identify updates or gaps in policies and provide recommendations.
