Job summary

Common App in Arlington, VA is seeking a Software Engineering Team Lead to guide a group of developers building web and mobile products. You will mentor engineers, define architecture, and ensure high-quality delivery that meets the needs of the Common App community.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in software development and 6–8 years as a people manager, with strong expertise in frontend (JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular) and backend (C#, .NET Core, REST).

Qualifications

• Candidates must live in the United States.
• Willing to travel to attend twice annual Common App Retreat.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering or relevant field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8-10 years of successful, progressive experience in software development.
• 6-8 years of experience as people manager.

Responsibilities

• Mentor a team of Software Developers and provide technical guidance.
• Define architecture, guide implementation, and influence frontend standards.
• Provide guidance on architecture and best practices across teams.
• Guide CI/CD strategy and cloud architecture discussions.
