WEX FSM is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple software engineering teams and shape engineering culture. You will mentor engineers, define best practices, and guide technical strategy while partnering with Product to translate business needs into technical roadmaps.

The role emphasizes mentorship, performance management, and a culture of continuous learning within a remote, full-time environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience or 1+ years in software engineering management.
• SDLC fundamentals across design, documentation, testing, and tooling.
• Experience with automated testing, particularly unit testing.
• Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and management for software engineers.
• Conduct regular 1-on-1s with immediate feedback and career guidance.
• Develop future technical leaders and senior individual contributors.
• Drive innovation by adopting modern tools and patterns.
• Collaborate with Product to translate requirements into technical specs and estimates.
• Define and enforce high-quality coding standards and architecture.
