Job summary

affirm is a remote-first company focused on predictable payments with no surprises. We seek a Senior Technical Account Manager (Senior TAM, L6) to own the operational health of technical accounts across our strategic alliances, monitor health, triage issues, and ensure SLA delivery.

You will design custom integration solutions and lead cross-team initiatives to optimize merchant outcomes and product adoption.

Qualifications

• Six+ years in a technical, external-facing role such as Technical Account Management, Solutions/Partner Engineering, or Solutions Architecture.
• Experience owning operational health of technical accounts and delivering against SLAs.
• Proven ability to run alerting, monitoring, troubleshooting, and inquiries across accounts.
• Strong project management and ability to lead cross-team launches and initiatives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to tailor explanations to leadership and technical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor teammates and lead technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational aspect of technical account management across affirm's strategic alliance portfolio—alerting, monitoring, troubleshooting, and fielding technical inquiries.
• Deliver against SLAs, surface technical risks early, and respond with urgency to merchant issues.
• Perform in-depth investigations and root-cause analysis across logs, queries, and integration data.
• Drive technical initiatives and partner on launches, expansions, and new product adoption.
• Design and deliver high-scope, custom integration solutions grounded in affirm's standard integrations.
• Act as a technical lead for internal projects and deliver well-scoped milestones.
• Develop playbooks, runbooks, alerting, and UAT plans to reduce KTLO work.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to influence the roadmap and gather merchant feedback.
• Mentor and uplift TAMs, share learnings, and participate in interviewing and team development.
• As you grow, own a dedicated book of strategic alliance accounts end-to-end.
