Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) to provide high-level operational support for complex cloud systems in a VA program. This role is 100% remote within the United States, requiring strong Linux/Windows administration, scripting, and cloud experience.

You will work with customers, document issues, and ensure security compliance while contributing to continuous improvement and incident response.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field, especially in production environments.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud (S3, Step Functions, Batch, CloudWatch).
• Strong Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems expertise.
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and IaC (e.g., CloudFormation).

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support of complex cloud systems.
• Develop solutions for routine technical problems.
• Document problems clearly in logging/discrepancy tools.
• Collaborate with customers and maintain system outages/recovery processes.
• Maintain system assets and ensure VA security policy compliance.
