Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a motivated security researcher to analyze in-the-wild exploits, track intrusion behavior, and develop automated tools for exploit analysis. The role focuses on defensive research within CrowdStrike’s TAC, leveraging AI-assisted techniques to enhance reverse engineering and documentation.

The position requires strong reverse engineering, Python scripting, and excellent technical writing, with remote work and opportunities for travel.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in exploitation techniques that are commonly seen in exploits for userspace and kernel-level vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of common network service exploitation techniques.
• Solid understanding of at least two operating system platforms, including Microsoft Windows.
• Familiarity with standard web-based exploitation vectors.
• Collaborative mindset and strong team player capabilities.
• Proficiency with reverse engineering tools and processes.
• Knowledge of programming and scripting languages, particularly Python.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate vulnerability research and exploit analysis.
• Experience using AI to improve decision-making and workflows.
• Ability to translate complex technical findings into clear documents and visuals.
• Excellent writing skills are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Implement tracking systems for adversary tracking based on exploitation behavior.
• Improve detection of exploits and malicious payloads.
• Increase threat visibility using new data sources.
• Reverse engineer exploits to understand inner workings.
• Develop tools to automate exploit analysis tasks.
• Create classification frameworks for intrusion activity.
• Contribute to active mitigation efforts with technical expertise.
• Develop host-based and network-based signatures for large-scale hunting and prevention.
• Produce high-quality threat intelligence reports with actionable guidance.
• Brief diverse audiences on technical results and collaborate across teams.
