Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Lead SCADA Design Engineer to own in-house SCADA design for utility-scale PV, BESS, and wind projects. You will produce high-quality AutoCAD and Visio drawings, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure adherence to SOLV standards.

The role is fully remote across the United States. You will mentor junior engineers, define design standards, and review detailed documentation while supporting commissioning readiness and long-term system reliability.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or energy engineering preferred.
• Direct experience drafting engineering drawing sets for SCADA, Networking, electrical, and/or substation designs.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Advanced knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts and architectures.
• Advanced knowledge of design, installation and commissioning of SCADA networks using Fiber Optics, Serial RS-232 / RS-485, and Ethernet TCP/IP.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial automation protocols and related schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex SCADA design workstreams for utility-scale PV, BESS, and wind projects.
• Produce high-quality drawings and resolve complex technical issues.
• Mentor junior/mid-level engineers and reinforce design standards.
• Review project scope documents and approve detailed design documentation.
• Act as senior design SME in customer-facing meetings and FAT reviews.
• Collaborate with SOLV OT teams to define hardware requirements and identify risks.
