Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a senior SCADA Design Lead to direct in-house design of SCADA monitoring and control systems for utility-scale PV, BESS, and related projects. You will craft comprehensive designs, define standards, and mentor engineers to ensure reliable, scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with SOLV OT teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and customer-facing project reviews, with strong focus on NERC-related governance and long-term reliability.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or energy engineering preferred.
• 6-8 years of engineering experience in renewable energy or utility-scale projects.
• Direct experience drafting SCADA, networking, electrical, and/or substation drawings.
• Advanced AutoCAD drafting skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking concepts.
• Experience with SCADA networks and field deployments.
• Ability to work with subcontractors and field personnel.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house SCADA monitoring and control system design for large renewables projects.
• Develop designs in AutoCAD and Visio; ensure adherence to SOLV standards.
• Review project scope and drive cross-functional requirements gathering.
• Generate and maintain detailed design documentation and BOMs for SCADA systems.
• Mentor engineers and lead technical reviews to ensure design quality.
• Coordinate with OT teams on hardware requirements and risk mitigation.
• Lead system design reviews during FAT with customers and act as SME.
• Provide on-site commissioning support and escalation for field issues.
