Job summary

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services for the power industry, delivering solar, storage, and high voltage substation projects nationwide. We seek a senior SCADA design lead to own complex design workstreams for utility-scale PV, BESS, and other renewables, producing high-quality drawings and ensuring long-term system reliability.

This fully remote role requires driving design standards, mentoring engineers, and coordinating with OT teams to validate hardware requirements

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or energy engineering.
• 6-8 years engineering experience in renewable energy, SCADA, or utility-scale projects.
• Direct SCADA drafting and design experience.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills.
• Strong Layer 2/3 networking knowledge and SCADA networking expertise.
• Experience with SCADA protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA/DA).
• Ability to read and develop electrical, networking, and control diagrams.
• Knowledge of power plant procedures and industry governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house SCADA design for utility-scale PV, BESS, and renewables.
• Develop designs using AutoCAD, Visio and related tools.
• Document standards and improve design quality across the team.
• Gather requirements and translate into scalable SCADA designs.
• Review drawings, issue redlines, and maintain quality standards.
• Escalate complex issues and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with OT teams to define hardware requirements.
• Drive standardization to reduce design and commissioning effort.
• Prepare project documentation and support FATs and customer reviews.
• Interface with customers and field technicians during commissioning.
