Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a senior SCADA Design Lead to manage in-house SCADA drawings and design standards for utility-scale solar, BESS, and wind projects. This role emphasizes engineering excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and mentorship within a fully remote position.

You will own SCADA design workstreams, generate detailed documentation, and coordinate with SOLV OT and field teams to ensure long-term reliability and successful project handoff.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or energy engineering preferred.
• 6-8 years of engineering experience in renewable energy, PV, BESS, or wind.
• Direct experience drafting SCADA, Networking, electrical or substation designs.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD
• Advanced knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking
• Advanced knowledge of SCADA networks (Fiber, RS-232/RS-485, Ethernet)
• Advanced knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA/DA
• Ability to read and develop power, network, and control diagrams
• Understanding of power plant procedures and governing bodies

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house SCADA design for utility-scale PV, BESS, and renewables.
• Develop designs in AutoCAD, Visio; ensure SOLV standards.
• Manage requirements gathering and translate to scalable designs.
• Review drawings, provide redlines at standard revisions.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge.
• Collaborate with OT teams for hardware requirements.
• Drive standardization and reduce commissioning effort.
• Prepare documents: diagrams, port maps, powering diagrams, BOMs.
• Interface with customers and 3rd party integrators during FATs.
• Support on-site commissioning and handoff for reliability.
