Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior SCADA Design Lead to oversee in-house design of SCADA monitoring and control systems for utility-scale PV, BESS, and wind projects. You will define standards, produce detailed drawings in AutoCAD and Visio, and mentor engineers to ensure high-quality designs and reliable project handoffs.

Applicants must have 6-8 years of engineering experience in renewable energy and strong knowledge of SCADA networks, fiber optics, and industrial protocols.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or energy engineering preferred.
• 6-8 years of engineering experience or equivalent in renewable energy including industrial or utility-scale PV solar, BESS or wind.
• Direct experience drafting engineering drawing sets for SCADA, Networking, electrical, and/or substation designs.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Advanced knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts and architectures.
• Advanced knowledge of design, installation and commissioning of SCADA networks using Fiber Optics, Serial RS-232 / RS-485, and Ethernet TCP/IP.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial automation protocols including Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA and DA.
• Advanced knowledge of reading and developing diagrams and schematics including powersystem, networking and control.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own the in-house design of SCADA monitoring and control systems for large renewable energy projects.
• Develop, review, and approve detailed design documentation including diagrams and BOMs.
• Mentor junior engineers through technical review and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with SOLV OT team to define hardware requirements and identify risks.
• Drive standardization and process improvements to reduce design and commissioning effort.
