Rocket Software is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to support Account Executives and partners, driving revenue opportunities with a strong background in Mainframe Security. The role blends sales acumen with deep technical knowledge to guide opportunities from qualification through close.

You will collaborate with teams, present compelling value-based solutions, and mentor peers in software components and delivery approaches while adapting to a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant sales advisory or sales engineering experience.
• Mainframe security experience with AS/400/IBM i and z/OS technical experience.
• Mainframe modernization experience.
• REST services and other application development skills and experience.
• Strong problem solving and requirements gathering skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Relate to customer challenges and provide clear, value-based solutions.
• Present solutions to customers and partners with or without sales support.
• Support partners in all aspects of the sales process.
• Convey technical details to non-technical audiences and foster credibility with technical audiences.
• Qualify business opportunities by understanding user requirements and technical environment.
• Mentor and guide on software components, design techniques, and delivery concepts.
• Handle objections professionally and progress assignments independently.
