Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a senior reinforcing-steel estimator/detailer to join a remote, full-time team. The role focuses on estimating, detailing, and preconstruction tasks with periodic travel to project sites and meetings.

You will review drawings, develop labor/material pricing, and help establish company estimating standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in reinforcing steel, with knowledge of detailing requirements, constructability, and cost risk analysis.

Qualifications

• Experience reviewing structural drawings and specifications for detailing requirements.
• Ability to prepare/ review reinforcing-steel placing drawings and bar lists.
• Develop labor and material pricing and production-rate assumptions.
• Identify constructability issues and risks before bid submission.
• Mentor junior estimators and detailers as the department grows.
• Establish standardized estimating procedures and templates.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment, freight, and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Coordinate reinforcing steel with structural, architectural and MEP requirements.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns; identify risks.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates; assist bid strategy.
