Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a senior Reinforcing-Steel Estimator/Detailer to support estimating, project management, and operations—remotely from the United States. The role includes developing standards, historical cost data, and preconstruction processes while collaborating with management on bid strategy.

The ideal candidate has extensive reinforcing-steel experience, strong drawing-reading skills, and the ability to coordinate detailing with structural, architectural, and MEP teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years reinforcing-steel industry experience.
• Experience estimating reinforcing steel on large projects.
• Ability to review structural drawings and identify constructability issues.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation or similar software.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to coordinate with project teams and field personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from structural drawings and specifications.
• Develop accurate estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment, freight and other project costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions based on project-specific conditions.
• Coordinate reinforcing steel with structural, architectural and MEP requirements.
• Identify conflicts, constructability issues and cost risks before bid submission.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates; assist in bid strategy and pricing.
• Solicit and evaluate material, fabrication, freight and subcontractor pricing as needed.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation and assumptions.
