Job summary

B&B Concrete in the United States is seeking a senior estimator/lead for reinforcing steel remote role. You will become a technical resource for estimating, project management and operations teams, establishing estimating standards, production rates, and cost databases.

Ideal candidate has substantial hands-on reinforcing-steel experience with large projects, able to review drawings, perform takeoffs, develop labor/material pricing, and support bid strategy while collaborating with management

Qualifications

• 7+ years of reinforcing-steel industry experience.
• Significant experience estimating reinforcing steel.
• Experience detailing reinforcing steel or reviewing placing drawings.
• Experience with large concrete projects (industrial, infrastructure etc.).
• Strong reading of structural drawings and specs; fabrication and field placement knowledge.
• Familiar with ACI/CRSI guidelines.
• Software proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, RebarCAD, aSa, Tekla, SDS/2.
• Degree not required if extensive industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, labor, equipment, and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions.
• Identify constructability issues and bid risks.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist management with bid strategy and pricing.
• Coordinate pricing with material suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation.
